    No nuts on the Bumperette Bolts, just the 4 bolts screwed from the inside out.

    It's all personal taste I know, and I agree that the HQ van rear bar suits the best. Sorry Jason, definitely not a fan of the later bar with rubber strips! But that is just me.

    ive got a wagon bar too, HQ from memory. was ages ago it went on there. fits well and never had any issues with tailgate. i also like the look think it balances the whole car more than the bumperettes do. (proportionally they look a bit small) haha. thats the beauty of the pano's, they r as individual as their owners
    1973 HQ with HZ front. Currently waiting for its resto.
    308 for sale too

    all the bars are the same length and will interchange..hq thru to wb statesman..brackets are different..
    hq wagon is smooth,hq sedan has tailights on it,hj sedan and wagon have indentations to take the rubber strip and if it has the strip it also has holes..wb stataesman looks exactly like the hj to z bars but takes a wider strip and 1 hole that attaches the rubber is square...BUT THEY ALL INTERCHANGE...
    if you want them to look right, as in tuck in to the body you will need to narrow the bar by up to 2 inches..

    rear bar

    mine has a full length bar that has been shortened, cut and welded each side of the number plate bracket, where the black vertical tape strip is.. I was going to change it back to bumperettes but not fussed either way...

    I reckon they look OK on dark coloured cars but just get lost in lighter coloured cars. Something to do with contrasting colours I think.

    Just thinking outside the square....

    The following share the same rear quarter styles:
    All HQ;
    HJ-HZ ute, van, coupe & statesman;
    WB ute and van.

    These also share a rear quarter style:
    HJ-HZ sedan and wagon;
    WB Statesman.

    Just thinking that possibly the HJ-HZ wagon rear bars stick out so far as the quarters are different in the lower area. Do HQ wagon bumpers stick out so far when used on a ute or van? Possibly they tuck in better as the HQ station wagon shares the same quarter shape with all HQ-WB utes and vans???

    I think that you are onto something, i think that i remember someone putting a wagon quarter onto a van to shorten it up, for looks. I think the van was called phenoix.. gun metal grey show car.. correct me if I'm wrong.
