in my garage i have a torana stashed away for a rainy day. this will be a concourse resto job when i have the time and money.
this LH SL/R (not 5L) is 100% original with every major part number that it rolled off the line with, still being on the car. big claim i know, but this was my mums first car she purchased it new from Peter Page Holden in Elizabeth SA, it still has the sticker on the rear window.
this car comes complete with full service history and less kms than my current daily driver. the SLR/GTS gear knob and steering wheel still have grain on them as the car itself has only travelled 146,000 kms. the torrie was parked here in the garage back in 1998 and has not had much done with it at all. the last time it ran was probably 2002, when a workmate of my dad's was looking for a torrie for his sons first car, when the offer was put on the table at $2000 for it, i told my folks not to sell it and i'd give them the money instead with the view that it wasnt going to end up wrapped around a tree.
the two changes from factory spec are the rims, 14x6 black aunger hustlers, mum worked at aungers as a receptionist in the late 70's (also jason, i'll need a set of your cap decals for these), original LH SLR rims and tyres are in my small shed here too - possibly with original air HAHAHAHAHAHA. the only other change is an aftermarket Aircon system, an under dash unit.
so aside from a mildly rusty boot pan and a few spots of rust on the top lip of the drivers door the car could be polished up and would be sweet.
why do i like it, well its not because of the colour or the fact its a 202, it holds a lot of memories for me and being its a rare spec with a rare colour i feel obliged to give this car a nice future
this ends the story of my hidden treasure
