What about all the old FB's, EK's and HD's that got scrapped in the 70's to early 80's. No one wanted them.

I remember as a kid, my old neighbour bought and scrapped an FB wagon every year in the mid 70's. He would buy one cheap with good rego, then paint his everyday one the same colour as the one he just bought. Then he would just swap the rego plates and hey presto! Come to think of it, could have been the other way around, but I always remember him painting them with house paint. Well I think thats what he was doing, I was only 6. Anyway a good FB wagon got scrapped every year. I suppose its no different today doing the same with a VR or VS.
