    So kept pushing on... The next job was getting it all in hi build primer and guide coat - the realise just how many high and low spots there still were!!!

    Now to rub back, find the highs and lows, fix them and then start to prep for paint...

    So with the guide coat mostly rubbed back, and dust and crap getting everywhere, I decided to also strip the rear of the van as well... Anyone who has done this job will point out just how horrible it is... I mainly used wire wheels, strip discs and paint stripper. If you do this be careful not to go too heavy on the floor as it is zinc coated and you don't want to strip that off...

    When the sides were done I got into the floor...

    Then put it all in etch primer...

    So this little job took the the better part of 3 or 4 days!! Still got a couple of little rust holes in the wheel arches to do at this stage as well as a bit of finessing with the sides that were welded in, but overall not too bad. I won't go over the top with the rear area as I fully plan on decking it out once the car is completed, but I still want it to look pretty good until then.

    Nice job cleaning out the rear. Lots of work but it's paid off for you.

    Thanks mate. Yeah I haven't been too anal retentive about it but I have got it reasonably straight... enough to look OK until I deck the rear out anyway....

    So re-did the seam sealer that I'd stripped away... Again, wasn't trying to make it pretty... the factory didn't anyway...

    The next job was getting the front spoiler rubbed back and in primer

    I also set up the console brackets and welded them in place as well...

    You changing the bench seat shifter stick for use with the console?

    Yep - got a normal shifter here.

    Checked the operation of both shifters to ensure no fouling before I welded the brackets in

    OK - so onto the rust repairs in the rear cargo area....

    Firstly there were only two at the base of each wheel arch... Cut them out...

    Then cut a piece to fit and weld in... (this is the other side - it was at the front of the wheel arch)

    And primed and ready for some minor filler and then paint...

    And then moving on. Look, I know as restos of panelvans go this is a simple one. But it still takes forever....
