    Heater core

(Rodney) tomorrow I am fitting the heater box and air con unit to my van, after I had all the air/guroos check the a/c, this morning the heater coil just got the better of me so I went to my local radiator repair man. He visually looked at it and said it appeared in really good condition, then did a flow test and said it was actually blocked through the cores, he said he could un solder it, clean the cores then solder it back together with no guarantee of the finished product, so he looked through his old 80's stock and found the last high pressure replacement core which he still had in stock. He soldered my end tanks onto this high pressure core, although costly I now am very confident that my heater core will not leak, a lot of you may not have taken this precaution but I decided it is too difficult to replace later.

You made the right choice. I bought one off ebay supposedly for HJ X Z air but it didnt even come close to fitting. It ended up costing me more to reco the old one but I'll never have to worry about it again.
