    Sandman ID

Hi guys have just joined My Sandman and would appreciate your knowledge on below. They are 2 vehicles I own which we are starting to do full rotisserie nut and bolt restoration on. Would like to everyone’s thought on authenticity as they are both in the HJ “grey area” as far as age goes.
    Number one is a Ute.
    HJ8WN80 11/74. AHJ01831M. 8N80REJ456931J
    456931M
    1899-64V. 2200kg. Seat 2
    567-15945
    L32 M20 GU4
    Number two is a van
    HJ8WM70. 8/75. BHJ32293A. 8M70REL319102J
    161992-A.
    1890-19V. 2200kg. Seat 2
    568-15953
    L32 M20 GU4
Both have normal sandman extras gts dash wheel console floor shift etc. The van also has full headlining with hooks at rear and has courtesy light switches?? don’t know if there meant to be. The Ute identified as a sandman on here years ago.
    Thanks

Welcome rawlys. Have you found the old thread on here for the ute? If you have link put a link up.

The van sounds like a sandman to me, lots of promising signs in that details you've given.

As the other guys said, get the certificate for them both. Both could be regarded as ambiguous otherwise. Good to have the definite proof

    hello

first get the HHS report to verify , it looks like the ute is a kingswood optioned with sandman extras . the panelvan seems to have some of the correct features of a sandman XU3 and looks promising , but get the HHS report to be sure.

Sorry for late reply but has been a very busy/hectic few workshop months. So contacted Ben and happy to report that both vehicles were on his register as original Sandman builds. The ute being very early is one of the Kingswood base vehicles used for the Sandman option. We have since had some spare time and stripped the van back. Not pretty but we will easily salvage. Currently on a rotisserie awaiting months of welding and panel work. Thanks for the help.
