HQ Kingswood ute - Sandman ?

    Hi All

What can you check on a Melbourne built HQ Kingswood 4/74 2 seater 30E trim, L31/M21 to identify it as a genuine sandman
Beyond the stickers and dash ? seems to have good paperwork..

I’d be checking with Lloyds on their documentation but they would have had it verified before agreeing to auction it. Very nice car, interior looks to be all original and nice to see one with its original vinyl floor. There are a few things wrong with it like aircleaner but overall a nice car and great colour.

You would think that they would check but that doesn’t mean much. There is a whole saga on fast lane regarding a Monaro they advertised as a genuine GTS car but it didn’t have any tags. The bloke that bought it was looking like he was taking them to court.

Stripes may never had been on as they were supplied in the glovebox for the dealer to fit or not.
Most likely would have been white stripes on Monterey Green.

All points to it being a Sandman. Prove it with a HSS certificate. www.holdenhistoricalservices.com.au

The wheel centre caps are wrong along with the air cleaner. Door/Guard to 1/4 panel is a very different shade of colour.
Take a look at the spare wheel winch for the correct Sandman/GTS/Rally rim retainer.
