    Please ID my gts wheels

    Hi, newby here and looking to I壇 my gts wheels for my hj sandman . What should I look for?

    Take the tyres off (clean them) and you will find dates, manufacturers mark etc.
    Selling HJ 253 Engine
    Engine Number QR718*** | 19M5 Clock Casting at 6 O'Clock
    19th December 1975 Suit HJ Late Dec 1975 to April 1976

    Look for:
    NO numbers stamped near the valve hole
    Welds on rear of the wheel joining the 2 parts of rim together
    HOLDEN + date stamped inside the well of rim...

    early gts wheels, (pre Sandman) will be stamped near valve hole, joined together with spot welds & have made in usa, or Canada stamped in the well of the wheel.

    This is my observations & someone more knowledgeable may have differing or more info

    The price of these wheels is ridiculous now. They were just trailer wheels or used to hang a garden hose on once!
    I have four here that I paid $50 each for about ten years ago.
    Think I might just sell all my Sandman bits.

    Yes stupid prices for shitty steel wheels but if you want period correct you have to pay
    im restoring a set atm for my van 14x7s
    its not cheap i bought them had them sandblasted and 2pak primed
    by the time they are painted new caps and new nuts
    they will prob owe me just under 2 K image.jpeg
    And thats without rubber
