Hi all
Last year I brought a HQ grille at a swap meet and it had this badge on it but I have never seen one on a HQ car before.
Does any know what model it was on.

It's a '71-'72 HQ Grill Badge
Why do you think it's anything else?

Thanks for that you learn something new every day.
I disagree. I remember the '71 release well & the HQ grille badge was always multi coloured.
Also there is only one part no. from '71 to '74, no change. GM-H always changed part numbers no matter how small the change in production.
I think it's a bit like the FB/EK horn buttons, where they where supplied by 2 (or more) outside suppliers. They started out all the same colour, but due to different production methods & slightly different plastic compounds, they have aged differently. Now 50 years later the badges from supplier A, looks different to the ones from supplier B.

HI Dr Terry I know what your saying but it doesn't look faded, I think it was all ways all black.

The colour version appears to have come in with the release of the LJ Torana (or around that time) and back to black with the HJ.
