I know they had different coloured steering wheels in cars like the HZ SLE but I fairly sure all Sandmans had a black one.

Yes I'm pretty sure that's right...
Also the uc torana SLE / they also got the monaro and sandman hx hz rear view mirror/ s ... can't be right all the time though.

It was asked what the very early '77 versions of the HZ Sandman's had and that is it.
Later it was amended to revert all Sandman's to Black. We covered this many years ago and I posted the original GMH documentation (if you dig you might find it).

Handle grip rubber is buckskin
Metal handle is buckskin paint colour
Handbrake cover is what colour?

It would be all Buckskin in colour.

Correct. No Sandman ran a colour sports wheel.

Column was also black on HX HZ Sandmans. HJ HQ im not sure?

As inners has said some early HZ had coloured steering wheels
mine is a 10/77 Tan steering wheel
