Hi All
Thought i'd share a little project i did this long weekend. I'm putting a custom fuel tank in my tonner and came across some issues with the installed fuel sender. As my tonner runs a WB Stato dash, the fuel gauge needs a 282-40 ohm sender for correct operation, not the 73-10 ohm sender that's standard on the HJ-WB commercial tank pickups (or the 0-180 ohm oddball unit that i found in the old tank). After a fair bit of googling and pondering i decided to fix my old pickup/sender to work properly. I found a document online which lists out the ohm range of lots of vehicles and found that my Stato gauge used the same sender range as all Commodores up to VS and also other vehicles including some Fords and Chryslers.

After a bit of eBay searching, i came across a NOS JB Camira sender which fit the bill perfectly. Picked it up and got myself buried in the garage to come up with a hybrid pickup/sender for my tonner with stato dash.
Pics and descriptions should show the job at hand...

Pop rivet the sender body to the commercial tank pickup

Reassemble the Camira sender in place

Bend and extend the float wire/rod so it works freely over the full height range of the commercial tank (brazing done after measuring the extra length needed)

Test it to make sure all is well
