Not sure so i have asked the question myself. It’s nothing special, no options like PS or AC so o guess it could have just been a stock order.
Right, because it was delivered so close to the build time means it was one of common/popular combination. So Holden built some of these as stock orders. The dealer had a customer walk in, ask for a car in that combination. They check the stock cars available from Holden and see one as the customer wanted. They order it and it turns up.
It’s when you asked for something uncommon that the delay occurs, like integrated air and an unusual colour I suppose.
Mate, can I ask what you find is working re welding, I guess every welder has different setting, but for not burning holes through but still good penetration? Is yours a gas or gasless mig? Mine can do both but I haven't done panels with gas yet, but believe it is way better? Thickness of wire etc. I'm inspired by this to start on mine soon
Hey Steve, I use a WIA mig with normal gas wire. Now I am definitely not an expert and only self taught.
I am using .9 wire and have my welder set almost on the lowest amperage. It’s a 270 amp welder.
I have some .6 wire and want to try that but I haven’t got .6 feed rollers yet. I won’t tackle any stuff on the outer skins till I have a play with the .6.
Get a sheet of scrap and start on a low wire feed and amperage and check out how it welds. Big blobs means too much wire, not enough amperage. Stop starting means not enough wire feed for the amperage.
Some welders have a chart to help with a starting point. Mine doesn’t so I found this one on the net. It definitely helps.

You tube has some great videos with tips too. I really want to do a tafe course though.
Everything I have read said use more heat and get the weld done quickly as opposed to low amperage which means you spend more time and actually heat the panel more causing worse warping, which is the opposite to what you would think.

Found more rust in the B pillar. Never ends, or hopefully it has. Found a pin hole in the quarter panel too. I have made the rest of the patch panels for the B pillar that I couldn’t cut out of the WB.

Had a go at folding up new drip rails. Fairly happy with them. I can’t get the exact same bend as factory so if I wanted to put the stainless trim on (which I don’t as HX Sandman doesn’t have it) it won’t fit. Still, it’s new, no rust and I did it myself.
