very good chance the tags are sandman with those numbers. Cant comment on the van itself without some pics and info on whats there and what is missing

yeah cheers, everything seems to be pretty sweet he has the 'bows' for the full length headlining, just one thing i noticed was that the body tag has 'A' for the Adelaide assembly plant, but the small skinny tag has 'J5' for melbourne assembly line ? were sandman bodies made in the adelaide plant then dispearsed?

Yes, Adelaide body sent to Melbourne for final assembly was common practice at this time. I have a 12/76 Adelaide built van & the numbers are miles away from the numbers you posted above

ahh thats what i was thinking, how do i go about working out what coloured decals it had on it ?

Jason @ stickthis does the decals for sandmans. You can private message him throu this site, but im not sure how often he comes on here. Google stickthis and get his email or ring him, he will tell you what stripes should be on it
