GTS Horn Contact

Hi All,

My horn has been intermittent for some time now, I recently changed the contact behind the GTS wheel as it was warped. This didn't fix the issue.

In the straight position the horn doesn't work, if I turn the wheel 10 degrees left or right It makes contact ?

I have tried extending the two pins but this doesn't address the issue.

My last guess would be the wheel hub itself is warped ?

It's been a while since I've had the steering off, so excuse if this advice is off. Have you checked the earth, I think it is like a spring mounted post? that contacts a steel ring on the steering wheel? Either the ring or post might need cleaning?

Hi, Yes I actually replaced the indicator mechanism also, which contains the spring mounted post. I pun grease on the post and ring today also but still no change ?

Grease might be interrupting earth??

Had the same problem, discovered was wiring issue. Replace indicator stem and relays for horn, fixed. Mechanic noted new alternator was slightly higher output of amps which melted some wiring. Added some electrical stuff and fixed the issue.

A bigger alternator won’t fry wiring, they are regulated to the same voltage regardless of amperage.

Yes I was under that impression also.
