Thread: What tyres?

  1. #1

    What tyres?

Thinking of new tyres on the van.
    They have suggested 225 70 14
    Currently running 205 70 14.
Happy with those but do people think.
What is best for these old girls, everything is basically standard, ride height, suspension is rebuilt to standard.
    Thoughts anyone?

In my opinion 225/70 x 14 would be too tall. They would fill the guards too much for my idea of how a van should sit on the road. There is plenty of tyre conversion charts on google that will show you the height difference of various tyres and rolling diameter of different tyre sizes. Also it would put the speedo out a fair bit

    cheers

Try 60 profile. 70 is more like a light truck tyre. The profile is the percentage of the width. So 70 is 70% of 225mm.
I have 235/60/14 on mine. Some people say 235 tram line but I haven’t really noticed it. 225 is enough width but they look a bit skinny in the rear guards.
