Yes, always factory stamped/pressed in.
But not all pressed in versions are original. There was a guy who moved bush sometime later in Penrith, NSW who was pressing flutes into standard guards.
All weld in flutes are either aftermarket or cut from damaged originals guards.

Wasnt there also the issue of the SANDMAN guard decal on the HX HZ decals, sitting right where the flutes would be. I once heard someone say that was a design strategy to put something in that spot where the flutes were.

Love the gts guards...
They should have kept them hx hz done away with the guard decal
Keep the hx hz side stripes ... tailgate sandman ...
