3/77 HX Sandman Panelvan ... Absinth Yellow and rusty as hell .. SOLD
Just read throu this & wondered...
Any updates on these, or new Sandman projects?
Mine, had a couple pin holes in drivers floor, the cabin area is now totally stripped out except for pedals, wiring harness & heater box. New floor pan welded in & next clean bits to reassemble. Cargo area had remnants of black fur everywhere, & the whole of the sides & cargo floor has 30 year old dried contact glue, hard as a rock and it must've been cheap, it's everywhere, which im scrubbing with prepsol (very slow) as to keep original inside paint colour.
Engine has now developed a water leak in valley at front, after being sitting for years, then been started &running to temp & driving in & out of shed, so I presume the manifold is rotted. So be looking into that soon.
Cheers
Max

Red one done and on the road, supermint most rust has been done, then straight on to paint stage, there’s a Hx Sandman Ute to do but really thinking I’d like a panama or royal plumb van instead of doing the Ute, but if anyone is interested I would love a Hq sandman van! I said I needed to do the deck first, and that is nearly complete (includes new verandah boards too). Hoping to re start on my Sandman by Christmas
