    Well its just as well i have a magical no name van built somewhere between 1980 and 1984.... Seeing as I've got the nod, i'd like to reveal for the very first time, the original spec of my van. Its a 06/83 windowless panel van with the following plate details;

Model: --8WM70 (-- is just for Valencia)
    Trim: 1991-67V
    Paint: 1J 032-D
    Eng: L36
    Trans: M20
    Axle: GV4
    GVM: 2200kg
    Seat: 3

    Super rare specs!!!

Anyway, couldn't agree more with the comments around keeping up progress on the project builds. I lost mojo for a couple of years, its very easy to slip into neutral gear and realise one day that so much time has slipped away. So keep going on all the real Sandman builds out there, I reckon they are a great bank account that will keep appreciating over time.

HZ Flamenco red 4 speed. Bought and driven in 1997. Hasnt been registered since 2002.

Appears to be all original panels and possibly paint. Faded and crowsfooting but still all there. Windowless and as close to zero rust as is possible for these things.

Currently in the shed and underway after a long time in storage. Stroked 308 and a T5 have just been put in the engine bay, hopefully for the last time. All front suspension is done and new windscreen in. Just needs to be wired up, brakes reassembled, exhaust and some minor interior work. No plans to paint it, its keeping its survivor skin.

Probably too large. Resize them in pixel dimensions and kb (weight).

Hi y'all. Haven't posted for ages. Great thread.

    HX 8WN 70 Kingswood van
Fac 308 M21 18V trim 2 seater 1950kg Tuxedo matching numbers original engine - Melbourne built

Bought it from Vic in early 2016. Filled in the sunroof, side windows and had it painted - in black of course.
Added new interior, power windows, full h/l, p/s. Had fac GTS dash and wheel, I added GTS wheels with red walls and guards simply because I like them. Gave the motor new fluids, ignition system, carb, cooling system all the usual stuff but did nothing to the engine internally and drove it from Nth Qld to Mildura return at Christmas in high temps - all good.

Decided to rebuild motor July before last, it's not long gone back into the van and still not been fired. Life just gets in the way sometimes, hey.

I've kept it in rego and been working on it this weekend actually, first time for a while. Needs a new exhaust and wiring finished off and it's start up time - woohoo.

On a side note can someone clarify if my van is an XU4??? Cheers guys.

HQ Sandman Brisbane built van, factory 308 manual, Barbados green, half way though a full resto.
Has been off the road for a good 20 odd years. Spent most of it's life in Victoria, much of it under a tree!
Hoping to have the body back on the chassis early next year.
