Thread: Seat Height

    Seat Height

I have some non standard (HZ, premier maybe?) seats in my WB van and I seem to be sitting quite high - so high the steering wheel rim at the top obscures the gauges.

I'd estimate a good 2-3" higher than where it should be.

Anyone know the differences between seat base/runner heights in various models?

    Thanks

The WB range ( bucket seats this i) were different from hj-hz. The WB actually had commodore vb style seats which had different mounting positions, so hole locations with captive nuts are different. Check to see if you have a miss match of seat runners and seat or if the mounting holes for the seats have been re- drilled?

This may be overly obvious and a silly suggestion, but if you have the WB/VB buckets...is the manual height adjuster lever cranked all the way up?

    Thanks for the replies.

    A bit more info.
A quick look underneath, there's obviously additional holes to accept the non WB seats.

Definitely NOT WB or commodore seats.
    No height adjusters

I'm wondering if you put a HJ-HZ seat in a WB van, will you end up sitting up higher than if the WB buckets were used?

WB buckets do not have Commodore runners and WB commercial seats do not have height adjustment. WB Statesman seats only have height adjustment. WB bucket seats are completely unique to WB commercials.
WB buckets have different hole spacing to HQ-HZ, but they are different hole spacing to Commodore as well.

    These are the seats:
    Hopefully someone can identify them.

    They look like re-trimmed HJ-X-Z.
They appear to be standard height but when re-trimmed might have had a little extra padding added.
