Did you change the seats yourself or where they already installed?

HQ real early had no headrests. HQ's then had adjustable headrests. HJ-Z were known as tombstone headrest.

Oh, I see you mean HQ lower skins on HJ-Z?

Using the console as a reference they dont look abnormaly high. If theyve had a recent retrim with new seat foam then they might not be sinking as much as an old set would. Maybe you just need to put on a few kg and then you’ll sink into them a little further.

If they are actually higher your legs get stuck under the steering wheel when you get in and out. I have a Stratos seat in my WB and it sits higher on the edges of the base and it’s a real pain to get in and out of. The old HX I have had standard HX buckets in it and you can get in and out easily.
As for the gauges I can’t say I noticed not being able to see them.

It looks like you have a sports steering wheel too? That would effect things if it’s not the same diameter as a GTS one.

I've had another look at some hq buckets I've got ..Gee the bottoms look like hq ... and it's not that out of the question that the backs have been changed...
The seats look like they have been recovered ..

The steering wheel is 350mm diameter
I was looking at getting a smaller diameter one, but that would make gauge vision worse :(
Do you know the diameter of the original GTS wheel?

The wheel is just ok in terms of hitting my thighs - no real issue getting in/out.
An extra inch or two clearance would be perfect, any less and it'd be a pain.

Good advice on the sport seats

Love the advice to GAIN weight!

GTS is 390mm so there’s your problem with not being able to see the gauges.
