In my travels the other day I passed a windowless HX van. Always worth a look. Got close to it and noticed full length headlining. Mmm thats 1 tick, but it had a bench seat, didn't let that worry me yet as many weird things happened in the 80's and 90's. Could not get the bonnet open. Guy said he would open it later, called back 5 hr's later and the bonnet was open. It had a 253, fairly original too although probably done half a million miles, so thats second tick. Check ID tag, dohh... N70 and seating capacity of 3.

The body was shagged, if the ID was good it would have been worth buying. Funny how those little letters make all the difference. Still thinking about buying it as it would be a good starting point.

It was what I was after, 253 factory auto. Just like my old Contessa Gold trimatic HX

Factory auto Sandman. Pretty rare thing. Most that I have recorded are 308 TH400 (or trimatic in HQ). HX Kingswood are fairly common in V8 auto, many are BO6 Ambulance (with twin headlight front).
