Full rear bumper, access to spare

l am just wondering what guys have been doing for access to the spare when running the full rear bumper set up. l have spent the last 2 years running around with no spare and l think it is time to fix this situation !!

i thought you could still access through the number plate area.but you will need to use the spring loaded fold down number plate holder from a sedan

Yes, I had full rear bumper on a van for years, & could access the winch through the bar with the number plate on the sedan hinged bracket. I think it might have slightly hampered the jack handle & you had to jiggle it into the drive of the hoist, but yes still worked OK

If you are talking about the crank handle to winch down the spare Spike, I made my own out of some rod and welded a square nut on the end.
If you made your own you could make it longer so it wouldn't be a pain in the backside with the hinged number plate.
I'll try and take a pic of it later on today if you like.

Commodore utes use a similar handle, but it doesn't fold in half, therefore a lot stronger. It will need cutting in half & lengthening, but should be able to find one at a wreckers or on a com buy swap sell site

That's why I made my own Max, found one at the biggest wrecker in town and he asked $60 for it. Obviously I said no, lol.
