In that 2nd pic, the compressor looks to be mounted upside down.
To my knowledge the fittings have to face upward (between 9 o'clock & 3 o'clock) otherwise the compressor will run dry.
They actually have a 'sump' for want of a better word.

With the heater, is the tap for the hoses inside the cab? That would mean you always have hot water inside? Won’t that make the cab hotter than the standard setup?
The tap is just inside the firewall so only a few inches of "heated" hose has hot water.
The tap lets the hot water circulate through the core when open
A lot neater then having it in the engine bay with maybe a little heat in the cabin - but if so, that what the A/C is for

BTW the compressor CAN be mounted in any orientation as it is the new style - issues used to be with the old styles apparently.
Now to re-install the dash :/

The Vintage air had 3 outlets for the dash - so used the two inner ones and then installed an additional vent in the drivers side "wallet holder" area on the lower dash.
It was kinda fortuitous anyways as I couldn't keep the entire depth as it fouled the vintage air box.

I installed a Retrosound radio/bluetooth/usb unit - well worth the trouble and looks period
I did get to keep the entire depth of the glove box, but lost the top right hand corner - but only "just"
A little better planning by placing the hoses as they go through the firewall a tad higher and I'd be able to keep the entire glovebox.

What does it work like? Can you test the temp and fan output against a factory setup to see how much difference there is?
Unfortunately I dont have a factory equipped car to compare BUT the air flow at flat out is higher than every other vehicle I have (XA hardtop, XY GT, 1987 & 1978 Corvette, nissan blue bird, Holden Caprice 2016 etc)
The cold air is VERY cold, hot is very hot - I'd expect overall its a lot better than std..
