Found one - 3 years on

As you can see, a long way to go yet on the body. The good news is the last piece of rust has just been cut out.

Very happy with the chassis after sandblasting and painting. All new or reconditioned steering and suspension.

Engine required a replacement crank shaft and oversized pistons etc. Will probably do a start up before body goes on.

Diff and gearbox required only bearings and seals replaced, driveshaft balanced.

A couple of these photos rotated 90deg when uploading - does anyone know how to fix it?

    Robin.

    Looking fantastic Robin!
Great to see your progress on the HQ Sandman.

Are you yourself doing the metal work?

Going to be great when you get back on the road.

Yes so far all metal work has been done by us (my son and I) who has young eyes for tig welding and finishing work.
We have to have a repair certifier as part of the re-vinning process. Maybe when all the panels are in place we'll get some expert eyes on it.

Have been working most nights and weekends for the past three years - so huge hours involved (the $164k for the Monterey green HQ probably adds up if the whole project was done by a tradesman)
The dealer probably had a bigger slice of the pie than he did!

It has come a long way from when you first purchased her. Certification should be easy for you.
