Blue windowless HQ "Sandman" at Lloyds auction

Howdy folks

It showed up on a ad choices sidebar for Gumtree this morning with a price of about $12k then when I clicked on it said auction ended yesterday. Now its up again?

I've never seen a tailgate script like that, is it an original design?

Quite an 80s/90s style which is probably why it appeals.......though not sure about the crushed velvet in sub tropical Qld

Nothing about the decals is original. Just somebodies take on it.
Obviously not a Sandman in any way either.
Neat enough HQ Van though, I like it.

I'd buy it tomorrow for 12 grand.... original or not, that's a good price. Strip the ugly fake stickers off it and either leave it plain or get a set of correct replacement ones and it'd look terrific.

Currently sitting at $13,650 with just over 4 hours to go

The buyers premium (scam) is 7.5% so add at least another grand, then $1700 in rego and duty for Qld, then what ever repairs are needed for rwc and general use....possibly a nice streeter for under $20 large

I wonder if these are no reserve

Wow it just closed at $30,000. I'm not sure if that means it sold but if it does, factoring in buyers premium now $2250, $1700 rego/duty etc rwc, repairs you're looking at $35-$40k

At this sort of money, I'll have to live on memories and nostalgia

Seems a lot to me, but if that makes the buyer happy good luck to them.
