Ive taken the fan off. fitted shroud (push it towards engine to fit fan again) then bolt up
I take it I have to loosen the V belts prior to this?

Yeah you will need to be able to spin the water pump to unbolt the fan.

Not really following you Inuendo? But the crux of it is, you need to loosen the belt. I only put the rad back in my ute the other day, and you can’t get to all four bolts that hold the fan onto the water pump with out turning it (that’s the vicious fan).
Do you mean the pulley will pop off with the bolts out and the belt tensioned? Yes that would be a bit of a risk to the fingers when the tension was released.
You may need to with a vicious/clutch fan. But I don't think Kiwivan is using a vicious/clutch fan. Just adding a cowl to his existing 4 blade.
The fact a spacer was mentioned points that way. I could be wrong though.

Loosen belts for the fan and remove pully and extension housing.
Just a straight fan no clutch
