How do we get Byron back?

Well as you all know Byron decided to leave our great forum because of some trivial thread that went sour a while ago
i have tried several times to get him to come back but to no avail
His knowledge about cars in general is second to none

So my question is how do we the get the man to come back to our forum
i know he is very good friends with Rod and Jenny and a few other forum members
maybe you guys could put in a good word in for the mysandman site

Any thought id put it out there

Hear hear!.... I often have (holden) questions that Byron would be able to answer, that I wouldn't be confident other people would know the answer to (or be interested in)

So put me down for a yes vote, to petition Byron, please

Also Greg (OZbox) was a great fund of information, but not around anymore

Maybe having new custodians with an insurance of any troll behaviour will be treated with zero tolerance.

Information is gold, and those that have it are worth respecting and listening to. Byron (and Greg Snape who has been wrecking Holdens forever and has vast knowledge) are some of the people that are on top of the list.

The problem arises when someone with a little bit of knowledge, or poor memory, or worst.... a mate that is an "expert", refutes the wisdom that the real experts are freely giving. This obviously upsets them and they wonder why they are wasting their time helping idiots that won't accept the correct info because it doesn't match their or their mates memory.

I see this every day on Facebook.... great advice is given and then some goose jumps in and ruins it.

The sandman myths are unreal and even after all the info on this site is provided, people still perpetuate these myths because it suits them for one reason or another.

Having Byron back would be great, but he needs to be respected when offering advice.

Would there be any advantage in getting one of the mysandman members that's also regular on the forums that Byron is still on, to relay questions from us to him, and post his replies back on here. Or have a dedicated thread for sandmans on one of those sites. (maybe this was attempted before mysandman site started? Im not sure) In the hope that he gets an interest and might come around.

Same line of thought, maybe moderators on here could send an email to him with questions from here once a week.

Another idea might be to speak to him and invite him on here once a week, (maybe Monday nite, or whatever) & have a Q & A session, and he could pass on some helpful information to anyone that is interested.

Off I go to the fridge for another can of Jim Beams thinking tonic

Byron has an incredible amount of knowledge and it would be great to have him back on deck.

I think he got sick of saying the same thing over and over again on here, but I think he is still pretty active on the fastlane forum, where keyboard warriors dont tend to argue with him as much. He is a very helpful guy when people need it. He put me onto my sandman when I first bought it, and has helped me through a few EFI conversions in different cars.

Maybe an ásk Byron' or ásk the guru' column would be great. And it could be edited so that it flows well, misconceptions are cleaned up, and trolls are thrown back under the bridge. Maybe even a mythbusters column or something.

Have it where we asks questions that he can reply to.
There can be no key board warrior reply’s from anyone.

All good ideas. I would much prefer to have him back. The guy is a walking talking encyclopedia of early Holdens and respected by many. It is ashame we have lost him for so long but hopefully he comes back soon.
Somehow lets all show our support so he can see that he is well respected and missed in our Sandman community.
