    2018 Commodore

So most of you may have already seen this, the 2018 Commodore will be officially unveiled next month in Melbourne, its official - no Ute

Looks to be a great event with 100 years of Holden on display including a couple of Holden's wilder concept cars

    And

If you are in Melbourne it looks like a great weekend, fair chance of seeing a sandman or two

I agree with everyone That it looks like a Kimazdai (or whatever generic POS you can create these days).
The similarity to the VF front is by design... to trick the potential new buyer into thinking that its still a Holden. every car manufacturer has been doing a similar thing for decades.... make the bold new model have a transitional phase by incorporating design elements from future models into the model being phased out.
    WB was a good example..
    UC Torana
VS had a similar grille to VT....
There are lots when you think about it.

    Anyway...
New Commodore... Yuck, hate it, no V8, and not built here. Not ever going to consider one or anything that follows.
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!

WB and UC were both the last series in those lines ever built though. There were no future series styling cues because there were no future series. They future platform was Commodore and it was already being built before the WB hit the showrooms. WB and UC were mirroring European design, rectangular headlights were in, round were outdated. Actually round lights have never come back.
That new Commodore thing will no doubt suit people from the world of bland car buyers.

I'm glad I got mine when I did, possibly the last petrol car I will buy. We were chatting at work yesterday, seems likely that I won't be allowed to drive any petrol or diesel engine car within 30yrs.
