    Unsure

    Hi guys,
Am buying a HX Sandman ute.... needs full resto
My questions are in regards to the paint colour, Engine and Diff. then ultimately what's the going value for one in very good condition with factory aircon?
    Trim 1917-60A
    Paint 567-17773
    Engine L31
    Diff GV4

    Any advise would be great

    Cheers

    It's a 308 with 3:36 diff and it's Bordeaux red.
Value? Somewhere between $5000 and$45000? Hard to know really. A genuine good condition survivor or a perfectly restored V8 Sandman ute might get the big money.
308 engine is definitely a better option though. Factory air adds a bit of icing for some buyers.
Some say being a HXmakes it less desirable but that's debatable.
What gearbox/transmission? Do you have HHS documents to suggest it's a Sandman? Is it Brisbane built with XX7 on the tags? These are all important to value.
There is not enough info there to say it's a Sandman to give a value.

    Thanks mate,
So GV4 only denotes gear ratios and not type of diff...eg Salisbury or Banjo
I was thinking that a 308 ute might have a heavier(stronger) diff than usual?
How would i find this out?

All V8 HX commercials ran a Salisbury 10 Bolt Diff.
    Bordeaux is a metallic paint.
60A Trim code is for a Chamois/Black combination.

As innuendo says, only two types of diff, V8 Salisbury, 6 got the Banjo. The tag just tells you the ratio.

From photos that i have of the HX ute, the interior is mainly black now.
Are there sites that show what a chamois/black combination interior actually looks like?

    Thanks mate,
Is the Trim- side panel= kick panel next to accelerator?
Glove box= all the metal area below the dash pad?
Trim- cowl side= pillar trim beside the windscreen?
The steering column is always black hey?
I was told by someone that the dash fascia is silver, but could they be thinking of HJ instead?

Is the Trim- side panel= kick panel next to accelerator? I would say so. But could be behind the door.
Glove box= all the metal area below the dash pad? There is no metal, all plastic and yes.
Trim- cowl side= pillar trim beside the windscreen? That's how I read it.
The steering column is always black hey? Yes.
I was told by someone that the dash fascia is silver, but could they be thinking of HJ instead? That is HJ
