Mine was a very boring and very unspecced van in any case.
Selling HJ 253 Engine
Engine Number QR718*** | 19M5 Clock Casting at 6 O'Clock
19th December 1975 Suit HJ Late Dec 1975 to April 1976
No ADR27A on plate.
Looking at ADR 26 and 27, 27A that's what I thought, they would shove it in to get ready. You would not know how long the car was around from production line to the sale I suppose.
But then again being Durham Beige, it is not guaranteed to be on the car lot long being that highly collectable and sought after colour it is.
They'd be lining up at the front door for it.
ADR27a was introduced as of 1st July 1976 and why the start of the HX series was July instead of November. Holden would not introduce the extra pollution gear any earlier than they had to, it costs more money and Holden was very much about saving every cent it could.
All HJ had the carbon canister as far as I am aware and no HJ had ADR27a on the tag.
Maysik, your HJ should have the long gutter molds... someone has screwed with yours and replaced them with the short ones. The stainless window trim is supposed to be held on with clips that in turn are held on to the body with round tabs, the only screw into the trim is through the trim tab in the bottom corners.

Interesting. Thanks good to know.
Would anyone have photos of these clips and tabs and window side stainless as I'd like to know what is going on.
Thanks.

The long window mold on my HJ and the clips that hold the stainless trim on. Sorry I don't have a pic of the tabs as I hadn't cleaned up around the windscreen when I took the pics. The tab are a bit like a pop rivet has been stuck to the body, sticking out with head raised up, the clips have a hole that goes over the head and a slot that you then push the clip across to hold it in position. Hard to explain without a pic of them.
