What did you drive on your L's what did you use for the test (bitta fun)

I read in Survivor Car Magazine the other day about this guy that ended up buying off a driving school when they shut down, the MK2 Escort he learnt to drive in many years before. It got me thinking,it seems most of us are around a similar age of sorts so I thought it might be fun to share.......

What year did you get your P's?

What did you drive for the test?

What was the weirdest thing you drove on L's?

What was your first car that you drove on P's?

For me, it was 1982. Used the driving school Datsun 200B (with dual pedals). Weirdest drive on L's was a Daihatsu 360 Hijet van (Mates work van, about 15HP). First car was an EH windowless van, but first car on P's was a MK1 Escort van (stock....oh the shame!)

Got my L's in 1989. Drove once on my L's,160km round trip to Mudgee in mums Sigma, then got my P's. Local policeman did my driving test. Passed it no worries, then he wrote the wrong date on my license so I only had my P's for 6 months!
I learnt to drive in our 77 Hilux when I was 8. Had a few years up before I got my L's.

What year did you get your P's? 1993 (16 yrs old and in yr 11 high school)

What did you drive for the test? Datsun 200B Wagon (our family's '2nd car' which I was then allowed to use until I saved up enough to buy my own car - during the Christmas school holidays I cut out all the rust and gave it a closed door respray).

What was your first car? TF Gemini (which I then spent all my spare cash modifying- mags, Webber carby, extractors/exhaust, stereo, lowered it, short throw shifter, etc)

Got my Sandman a couple months after I got my L's.

Did the p's test in dads Mazda E1800 van. Windows all round and the turning circle of a bobcat. Pretty sure both parents were in town that day so P plates went straight on the Panelvan.

Didn't drive a whole lot of cars on my P's. Most mates didn't have their own and were driving parents cars with named insurance. Mine was better than all of those anyway.

What did i drive for the test some shit box 4 cylinder cant remember to many good times
First car LX 4 door Torana spent all my money on that car and my Sandman
thank god i still got that

Got my P's from the Mount Isa Police station in early 1986 in my poor man's Torana, 1978 Holden Sunbird which was my first car.

Nothing wierd

White HK Kingswood sedan with draqways

Got my Ls in 1997 and Ps in 1998 was learning in my mums datsun 240k. Did my driving test in the driving schools Hyundai excel. The first car i drove on my Ps was a VL wagon.

Got to say that the age of people on here is a lot younger than I expected!
I drove our truck to the local wheat Silo at harvest in 1990. I was still on my P's so couldn't get a truck license. That was 7 trips a day on a 70km round trip for about two weeks up the Castlereagh highway! I didn't get to choose either. I was just told by my older brother that I had to do it lol. Never got pulled up thank Christ.
