G'day Blue victor, I have tried a few different cocktails over the years. Heavy coats of deodorised fish oil is probably as good as anything, however I have used a tar base mixed with fish oil and thinned with GP thinners so I can spray it in and get it to flow into all the cavities, but very messy until it all dries. None of my cars have had any rust or flare up over the years, But they don't stay out in the weather either and don't often see rain days, just the hose from regular washing. You must make sure the arears you want to treat are clean and don't have rubbish and dirt build up or the dirt will attract moisture and rust under the rust treatment.

What, no screw in electronic miracle worker in the engine bay?

I live 300m from the ocean in sub tropical Qld so I'm always interested in what talented/experienced people use to counter the brown menace. Here if you sand something and stop for lunch you come back to surface rust

Personally I too have used fish oil as well as penetrol and even Wurth HHS2000 which is an amazing tacky spray grease (I used to rep for them) but it does attract dirt if on the outside.

Thanks for sharing and I look forward to the deauville blue paint (he says hoping)

Live 180 meters from the beach on the west coast of New Zealand and alway use fish oil every 2 years.
No tin worm yet, about 10 years close to the sea.

Yes I used Wurth products, It was a tar based liquid rust protection coating. You can apply it using a paint brush and brush it on. We used to buy it in a five litre tin. I haven't seen it around for some time and that's what I used to do my hatch. As described above I added some fish oil and thinned it with GP thinners and applied it with a underbody sealer spray gun, attached one meter of flexible hose so I could jam it into the sills and rear quarters and hard to get areas. I still have the hatch, restored and rust treated near 14 years ago.

Blue Victor I was holding out on telling everyone my colour choice until I started painting inside the doors and guards etc. My first choice was Absinth yellow but my wife said "your not bloody painting it yellow, we already have an SLR in yellow"

My first sandman was Antelope and painted it Deville Blue, one of my favourite colours. A few weeks ago I was playing around with my camera in the shed when my son come around with his Clubby, we decided to take a few photos of it and we decided to paint it in,.....................

Ok here is my colour choice, its an original Holden colour.

Ok its that close to Deville blue its not funny, but Impulse blue just seams to have a bit more depth with a bit of purl. Its got a bit more bling.

Ok the cats out of the bag.

You must have been reading my mind with the colour.

P.S Only had one of those prostate exams and never going for a second opinion.

Yeh already ordered the paint a few weeks ago.

Gene my ignorance, Valencia is orange? I don't like orange peel.
