After being stuck inside for a couple days due to rain and having had to cancel camping plans for the same I decided I would head west, get out from under the clouds

400Ks drive to do a 7k walk, great way to spend a day

Crows Nest cascades in Crows Nest National park

The new growth around here was stunning, above you can see the far hill is still black from fires after drought.

The campground at Crowsnest, everything you need and empty!

The Palms National Park was a little creepy, I found a dead snake on the path and came across a couple of cultivators who did not seem the usual bushwalking type, stick to the paths here.

Good soil, anything would grow here. Apprently this is the last stand of this type of Palm and sometimes people see sugar gliders and Wompoo doves. No luck for me.

Nothing says Queensland like man-made dams and introduced species

from here it was an easy run, stopped off to see a mate for a beer and home by dark. Great day with Sandie

Gee, that's a long way from where it was built and sold.
I have it on the V-Series data base as a Western Australia car. Listed on Gumtree April 2018
It's actually a VY with a VZ nose.

I found it in Caloundra, parked next to it for the photo op, went to the servo, fueled up and met him again on the way out to the freeway. He headed out past Landsborough, didnt get to speak with the guy.

    Curtis Falls and Mt. Tambourine

Next roadtrip was down the Goldy to see a mate and chase some waterfalls

Who doesn't love a walk in the forest

Old mate is in paradise - Curtis Falls

Next it was the Mt. Tambourine Rainforest Skywalk

pretty enough but not worth the $20

Laheys Lookout is a bit overgrown these days

Laheys Tunnel is now blocked off

A local tells me it was used to store agent orange during the post vietnam war years and is considered toxic. I played in there as a young kid...

Mate I just love your travels.
It has made me more aware of where we live and I now get out a lot more.
Time for you to put out a book or a travel blog with pictures

    Cheers Kiwi

    Thanks Guys,

I would love to find a better/bigger way to share the travels. I once planned on doing it via YouTube, but it turns out I don't really like being infront of the camera. I am happy to share video without me in it or a voice over, but these types of videos don't get much traction/views/notice. Plus work/life gets in the way, hard to believe its been 3 years!

I think you're right Kiwi, I should start a blog.

I have considered a coffee table type book on the Burnett river/Highway as I know it well. Not sure it would have much of an audience though, maybe an Ebook as its much cheaper to produce.

I do post a bit to insta but it's not the right platform for these types of stories, have tried Imgur without much traction. I do OK on Reddit, mostly international people. Twitter feels like yelling into the void these days. I have never had a facebook acc. and don't want to start now, feels like its ending annyhow.

You can find me by searching CamsCampingAdventures on those platforms/services.

I have decided against selling books/photos etc. at markets as I'm not really the type to chat plus I don't think I would enjoy it. You've really gotta work those stalls, press the flesh, and that can make me a little uncomfortable sometimes.

I will need to do more of the post processing on a computer, upto recently I have been doing most of it on my phone, am now pushing that limit.
Does annyone recomend any software for entry level RAW processing? Or a good blog platform?
