Enjoying your trip photos and stories.
Not a fan of the faked out colours in some of the images though.
Seems a new adventure is just a drive away!

I reckon in my travels I've seen something like a dozen "Black Stumps" that all claim to be "the one".
Is there one near you?
Blackall QLD, just behind the primary school.
Tambo was my choice for the first night's stop, didn't like the feel in Blackall or Barcaldine so just kept driving, lucky I liked Tambo as it was getting late.
Scouted around for a campsite by the Barcoo river but ended up in the van park across the road from the pub. Next time I think this will be a top spot for a camp.
You would be up for the first service by now with all those travels
good stuff livin the dream
had its first 1,000k's check up within 2 weeks, next service is due at 15,000k's and every 15,000 then on
after the first 2,000k's I averaged 9L/100km at 72.8km/H, this was near the start of the trip
At the end of the trip I got 3,600kms at 9.1L/100kms at 78.2km/H
Best I've seen is an average of 6.7L/100km at 100km/H on cruise control, flat roads and no overtaking for 100kms, the canopy doesn't seem to affect the ride/handling or what other sedan/ute drivers are reporting for mileage, which makes me very happy.
Just went and took some more photos, up to 4,511kms now.

While Blackall makes claim, Australia, or more so New South Wales had used the term (documented) as early as 1831.
That's more than 50 years earlier and Queensland as a State didn't even exist. I've always believed it to be in/near Coolah, NSW.
You are right though, I've travelled Australia and seen it in every State and Territory.
Yeah Coolah claims it has the original.... except someone stole it lol. They had to burn another and replace it. But I tend to think that it's an urban myth really. It's only about 40km from me.
Actually, now I think about it, we actually more or less live on the Black Stump Way.
