What the story with the grey ute, they find some left over HDT stickers from the 80s?

Your van is the better looking vehicle, the canopy on the other Ute looks more like an afterthought. I have never seen a HDT Ute before, it must have a few extras in it though.

I've not seen a HDT Ute before either, nor a factory one with a 2 tone bed lid, it is badged as an SV6 so not sure what performance gear it might have, so I had a look around and it looks like the most recent HDT was a remake of the blue meanie

You can however buy the decals quite cheap and make your own, the only obvious change to the one I saw was the wheels

The ARB canopy has more fruit and costs around $3,500, mine was $5,000

I agree Camper. The canopy on your Ute is far superior (in looks at least) than any other canopy you could have bought. The purple Ute looks like a Ute with a canopy, where as the uninitiated would look at yours and not even realise it was really a utility. No contest.

another week off and another road trip.

This time I went to;

Abercorn, bit of a ghost town now



Very dry out that way







Waruma Gorge




Always stuns me how it can be so dry right next to a river/lake/dam













Now that's a Dam wall

one of the dodgiest bridges I've driven across, had to do it twice, once in, once out. Crossing the Nogoa River, down stream from the gorge pictured above

300 odd Ks further south, I really enjoy driving down the range at Tansey, one of those spots where 60kmh is fast enough to be fun.




Was home a couple of days and then on to Brisbane to see an Uncle on Lamb Island

Looking across to Coochiemudlo Island from Victoria Point, beautiful spot






Snipe Island in Moreton Bay, I think it might be for sale if you've got the cash






And back home to the Sunny Coast






All too soon it was time to head back to work
