well got some more done today! loom half in :D got the bit in the engine bay done today! the rest which goes through car etc is still to come. i will be sitting one of the extractors in there to see where loom fits around that so i can find the best place for a hole through the fire wall. i am thinking of putting the ecu above the tunnel and making a console to go over it. i dont have a full length console. so can make my own out of fibreglass then make it nice and posh with bit of padding and vinyl. so it will be under the dash, just sitting at the front of the gear box tunnel.
engine and trans still not resting in their correct spot as ive still got to fit the cross member. then that will all be sitting where meant to. and still a few things i am not sure where they go! but will figure it out haha! this is the scariest part of the whole thing!

this side im not happy with how the switches plug in. seems a bit loose. think switches are bit broken or i just cant get them in LOL

well i sorted the golf out!! turns out the water leak making car damp inside which was causing voodoo stuff! so i found leak, fixed it and all works fine and as it should :D which now im selling the golf, very veyr sad decision. but only one bum for so many cars and want to have mroe cahs to spend on my pano :D and wont need golf with pano on road!!
but with tht fixed spent some time with my pride and joy!!! got the gearbox cross member done and in. so dad helped and welded plates on the end, then cleaned the welding dags from where cross members are meant to be bolted to (mine had been welded in when the last engine went in ) so the centre bracket was widened, and plates welded on the ends so the cross member bolts in and out as it should now! may need to put a spacer under the bracket yet, will know when put the drive shaft back in if it clears the handbrake cable ok. looks like all should be ok. drive shaft looks like will be about right length but not sure if yoke is going to be same. will find out in next couple days

thanks test fitted drive shaft today LOL just too long. only 1.5 inches roughly too long! god dammit! so close! the spline yoke does actually fit perfect into the trans though.
trip to hardy spicer as soon as i can afford it. should not be too expensive to have one shortened. i cant remember when ive had things done before. long time back!
