This would be my regret, 1975 HJ Monaro 308 M21
Back in the late 80's I had a fella offer me one similar for a swap for a 253 4-speed HQ ute. I thought I needed the ute more and then 12 months later swapped it for a Landcruiser FJ40 with a 350 Chev that would do wheel stands in low rangeasta:
BTW nice looking Monaro, those Dragway Indy's somehow suited the body shape

Very nice looking car there, if it was a photo I bet it would have tear drops all over it
Definately regret selling this, always missed it. But of course it had to go in order to buy the first house in the late 70's.

The sandman was bought new Feburary, paid around AU$4500 with all the extras, sold late 70's for NZ$7500. I always remember the salesman at Sutton motors Arncliffe saying this was the first they had on the lot so be quick (it was on display on their number 1 spot). True or not? who knows.
Good old photos Robbo, definitely the one you let get away. What colour was it? Was it chrome yellow and age has just got to the photos?
Are they water bags on the roobar Rob they worked a treat back in the day for long trips
now i just carry the Engel around in the 4WD how times have changed
Sandaro -Yes it was chrome yellow - the best colour.
Valencia -Yes water bags, and yes you were right. After a full day on the road, the water was ice cool.
The current rebuild on the barbados green is coming along slowly but surely. Will put some update photos up soon.
Heading over to Melbourne soon to try to track down more missing parts.
what a corker Robbo. thanks for sharing the pics
