He has this one recorded as well James
If that quote is word for word it says it's not a Sandman. It's says someone wanted L31 M21 in a standard van and "not" wanted a Sandman.

Reading throu this has confused me, 3 seater should be not a sandman, shouldn't it? In any case, with that and Brisbane built with no XU3 on tags would at the least reduce its value, and therefore its collectability or even worse cast dispersions (is that the right word/, is that even a word??) on its originality.

Anyhow, hope it works out OK for you, and I would be happy to own it no matter how it turns out

    cheers

Just to be clear, and not to confuse anyone by the above comments, this is NOT a Sandman. 2 things on the tags say its not, 3 seater and no XX7 stamped (it is Brisbane built). The 'Monday cars' I have seen referred to have only 1 mistake (not 2) or are corrected at the factory (eg 3 seater stamped over by 2). Further if console brackets are spot welded, this is not the way the factory did it.

I am sure something has been lost in translation from Byron if he did say it was, or if he has it recorded as a Sandman perhaps a previous owner mislead him about the tag info/console mounts.

As others have said Holden Historic services can answer these questions definitely for $90 if owner is still in any doubt. Cheap for peace of mind.

Thanks for all your information id plates match chassis engine block matching as well no good any more a rod decided to poke it's head out of the block. I will get a HHS report the main reason i bought the van was it was brisbane built 'QUEENSLANDER' and having the factory l31 m21 gv4 jamacin lime / green with the factory roof lining but no xx7 on tags though the old girl deserves to survive. I will post HHS report when i receive it how long do they take normally cheers darryn

Like our statesman malachite sandman which was stated on the buy sheet, it was a sandman but had a caprice front grill and the badges on the tailgate and DL 7 stripes all dealer fitted
