Spotted while out and about...

I was doing an inspection on a house out at Samford and got talking to the owner about restoring cars..... He then showed me inside his shed.... this FJ was practically rust free and in very original condition.... not bad for the $800 he said he paid for it..

I sold a restored HT/HG dash fascia last week to a guy here in Brisbane and dropped it off to him over the weekend...... Check out what I walked in on.....

This is an ex show van that was left in a shed.... fairly rust free from what I saw.. and next to it under the cover is a really nice original XY 351 Fairmont...

He also had a beautiful looking FJ sedan with a few interior mods and a 5sp fitted.... he told me the engine was stock as a rock and started it up for me..... no way that is a stock grey motor I said.... and yes that is another XY V8 Fairmont in the background

His reply was.... I never said it was a grey motor..... I just said it was a stock standard engine.... A damn nice conversion it was to..

Also had a look over this beautiful Buick complete with suicide doors.....

Then there was this little darling which Bob kindly uncovered so I could get some pics.... loved this car and it was 100% totally original unrestored condition.... totally original paint and silver interior trim..... In front of it is a race prepared BMW M3 and to the right of the B'mer half under cover is a restored 1950's Rolls Royce.

He had a few other cars I didn't take pics of including a FJ sedan drag racer, another XY Fairmont done as a GT replica and a very nice HT GTS Monaro with a 350 in it....

Do you wonder what kids of today will be restoring or collecting? Will we see Camira's and Excel's in garages in 50-70 years time? No I don't think so either.

Yes I was glad I had taken my phone with me or I wouldn't have got those pics....

As for what will be in garages in years to come.... I would expect a few GTS and maybe SS Commodores, some HSV's and a few FPV's..... and probably a few of the factory performance ricers... not in my garage though.. late model cars have no shape...
