Thought I'd see if anyone is going to the Gawler swap meet? (Sunday the 19th of Sept)
I went last year and actually got a few good parts at reasonable money, hoping for the same again.

all the people in those pics look like all the same people that go to every swap meet in australia...sad really..
Never understood it myself.
Pile your car full of crap.
Take it to a swap meet.
Pay to get in.
Sell nothing.
Pack it all up again and drive home.
Of course if you take decent car bits and put good pricing on them you'll sell them. But as for the tea cozies, old china, buggered chainsaws and empty Coke bottles....
It's not Ebay that killed the swap meet. It's the idiots they allow in with averything other than car/bike parts.
I saw one old beer bottle for sale for $5.. it was empty.
The Gawler swap meet is touted as a car swap meet, and in my opinion there was about 90% car bits and 10% tea cosy's and other household junk.
The car stuff was ok, but the prices were stupid. A pair of 14" rally II rims for $250 and they were in poor condition. HQ/J centre console with lid was $170. GTS guards that were more bog than metal for $400 (weld ins).
I scored an inner lower seat hinge bracket for $1. That is an awesome WIN for me.
I picked up the remaining brackets for passenger seat for $4.
Lots of Ryco gear and other boxed NOS stuff that I am not knowledgeable to identify, but I'll go back next year with a better understanding of what I'll be needing.
Most of the sellers are eBay savvy so their prices were exy... however the odd farmer with HK HT HG stuff and earlier were around.
Here's a couple piccies from the show.
$10 for this box of scalextric gear
Here's the console for $170... it was sold for that price too!
