HQ Glacier White Belmont Ute
Wanted Lanspeed accessories for Holden Grey engines, twin carb manifolds, extractors, rocker cover, 3 speed floor shift.
I don't know about that. I have used the RTA/RMS in NSW to contact owners of dead cars sitting on the sides of expressways etc to see if they wanted them gone. Simply went to the RTA with the rego number explained why I wanted the info and it was happily handed over once the counter staff ask a superior for approval. Done it on multiple occasions. Mind you we'd be going back to the 90's.
You did not read my post correctly.
That's right she did not give the info to me.
She told me to write a letter to the registered owner, including my contact phone number and then the RTA will pass it on.
It is then up to the person (last registered owner they have on record) to contact me if they wish.

I was trying to chase up the chassis for a sandman shell I've got. I had the number off the tags and put in a freedom of info form to rms NSW asking for all past and current rego papers for that chassis. They don't just give them out based on privacy but said they would pass my request and number to all previous owners to get their consent. No consent was forthcoming, but I actually got a call from the original owner which was great, but didn't lead me to the chassis itself. The biggest lead I got was the name of the town that the ute that now sits on the chassis was last registered to.
348102B - fingers crossed!
I think I worked or the VIN might be 8M70LDH348102J, but I can't find a search engine that searches old vins with only 14 numbers.

If you need to add more numbers try zero's at the front or end of the number to make up the required amount needed.
Oh good thinking!
Update - Tried and didn't work :(
