Long Grain or Sandpaper ?

Hi everyone,

I've searched and cant find a clear answer on what dashpad to replace mine with?

It's an original HX TRIM 1890-18V

My current crashpad has issue's as you can see so I want to repair/replace.

Should it be Long Grain or Sandpaper?

What is your headlining and sunvisors?. The dashpad should be the same as the headlining, if it is ribbed then you have a long grain dash, if it is sandpaper your dashpad is sandpaper. Having said that, the 8/77 HX Sandman ute I had was ribbed headliner and long grain dash pad in 18V. My understanding was that all HX had long grain and sandpaper didn't come out until the HZ series

Thanks although now I'm even more confused. I didn't know the headlining's were different !!!. I'll have to wait until I can get to the van and check it out.

I was hoping that the date range of the build would give us a clue 4/77 ?

Just guessing but i think its long grain im sure sandpaper was HZ

the sandpaper pad did not come out until mid 78. (HZ). Any car that is a HZ and is C or T (18C or 18T) (18 being used as an example) will have sandpaper. All HJ-HZ prior to C and T trim had long grain.
