What product to preserve, protect, and to stop vinyl trim drying and cracking

I've recently purchased a fairly clean/original/unrestored HQ ute (plain Belmont).

As per the photo below, the interior is in good condition and I'd like to keep it from going brittle.

What do you MySandman experts use to care for and protect the original Holden vinyl?

Obviously, being a bench seat, I don't want something that will be to slippery (like Armorall) or anything that will mark clothes when sitting in the seat.

I've tried to do my own research but most conditioner type products appear to be targeted at leather, not vinyl. I spotted Mothers VLR which the label states cleans, conditions and protects vinyl, leather and rubber so sounds promising but I've never used it so have no idea!

(ps yes, I know a HQ should have head restrains - it's a long story but, according to Holden Historical Services, this ute was a fleet order with some 'deletes', including head rests. )

The best way to protect vinyl is to keep it clean and out of the sun. A good wash with a good quality vinyl cleaner and fit seat covers and a dash mat.

keeping it out of the sun is all you need to do. old boy has a WB ute that has been in the shed forever and the vinyl is as soft as my new VF

Yeah, it's pretty clean. It's definately stored undercover and out of the sun.

So far I've just given the ute a good clean and polish (no paint or restoration), as well as sorting a few minor mechanical issues (such as rear brake linings and tie rod ends) to bring it back to 100% roadworthy.

These pictures were taken about 2 weeks ago on the day I got through Regency (SA vehicle inspection).

In these pictures you'll notice that I've temporarily installed a HZ bench to avoid any potential issues for not having head rests (it's a 10 minute job to swap them over )

1971 HQ = No Headrest. Simple as that.
Mind you the orange front indicator lenses are 1974 only.

Head restraints where compulsory to passenger cars and derivatives on 1 Jan 1972 pursuant to ADR #22. Multi purpose passenger cars (not sure what that definition includes were 1 Jan 74) Worth checking whether your compliance plate has the number 22 on it.

Off topic, but I know a guy whose in the fx-hz club with a hq in similar mint condition. Hopefully you both run into each other for photos one day.
