North
I've checked another holden forum on the HZ Sandman, it talks about the tyre placard as Sandman's came out with GTS wheels and apparently there is a code for this on the placard ?
Other thing to look for is lights in the footwells which was standard for HZ Sandman ?
Apparently they had the bottom front spoiler too, but these can be taken off due to being damaged.
Not worth the paper it is printed on, and it looks like holden themselves have perpetuated the myth that a Sandman must have XX7 or XU3 on the Body plate, 'tards.
I'm with Jason, Sandy for me but a possible rebody. Chassis is easy to swap so matching chassis is not a guarantee it is the original body.
Ok, what area is the van located Waddell, and would you like somebody to look at it?
PS Gene, you changed your avatar. Is that daylight on your van after 20 years?
A rebody isn't the end of the world and its more likely that the tags have been removed in preparation for resto and for security. I'd be more worried about one that had the tags on but wrong rivets used. If the body has the basics required then you should be pretty safe.
Yes Frosty it saw daylight after 21 years in hibernation even washed the dust off
its in a more secure garage now and i have started to pull things off already
very slowly of course
