Guys wanting some help here
Have noticed when in first gear the gear-lever is that sloppy I can pull it over towards third.
I take it this is a linkage problem
And this is in a 1978 HX.
Gearbox is a M 21
Any help will be much appreciated before I start solving this problem.

It is common in a car with a worn shifter or out of adjustment but if it has slowly got worse it is wear the shifter will need a rebuild or replacing

Gearbox changes nice and smooth
And that is through the full range up or down
Will have a look at the linkages first

Yep... Linkages or bushes in the shifter.
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!
