Adam, I think you'll find the HJ Caprice on is identical to Deville except for the badge.

what is pictured is an hj deville grille with a caprice badge..caprice grille has 2 vertical moulds on each end and no mould across the top as the caprice runs the alloy section that bolts to the apron and curls over the top edge of the grille...
same grille with different mouldings and as such has a different part number..
hx and hz statesman grilles fall under the same category..

yeh i shall take some pics of moulds etc..cheesegrater grille is the same for hx and hz but the colour combination of the silver/black strips was the difference for the part numbers..

    Greg

I think that is actually a HJ Caprice grille, HJ Deville is the same from memory just has the horizontal bars painted black. I'll double check before stating it as gospel though! The upper alloy bit was only HZ Caprice from memory. I think HX is the same story, ie same grille, different paint treatment and HZ Deville continued the same grille. Just HZ Caprice had the stainless bit missing and an alloy bit on top (with different paint treatment again).

byron, double check the part numbers but i thought you could get the alloy section in both hx and hz caprice which made for all the different grilles and color schemes...
    happy to be wrong though...

sorry byron, just re reading my posts and it would seem that with the fevers of the cold i had this weekend i had some old man moments as well..im including hj in my hx hz ramble..
