Does it have any GTS gear in it? Are the door handles black?

Being white would suggest to me that it's more likely a standard tradies van and he just wanted a decent manual gearbox and comfortable seats.

The other option I you can contact Ben. Here:

    http://www.holdenhistoricalservices.com.au/

He may have records on the van (tags) and what it was sold as, where and also date etc.
Those records wouldn't have what it was sold as would they? The info I've got about some of my cars I'm assuming came from the same production records and they don't even state what body style they were from memory, let alone whether there was a special vehicle package.

Interesting that this report says the vehicle was built at Elizabeth as a sandman, & yet we keep hearing that holden didn't keep records?

    cheers

There are ways of knowing where the car is built via the tags and this is the information that Ben goes by. Production records were kept; it's just that some were lost or destroyed.
I do know that Ben is using Byron at times to complete searches on Sandmans. Collative information by enthusiasts closes gaps and completes information in some cases.
The records possibly don't say "Sandman" but when the information is put together it is proved to be a Sandman and a confident report can be issued.

Innuendo doesn't it say XU3 at the top first line
    model option 8WM70 XU3?

I totally missed that. I read the 2200kg at the bottom and thought that would be the appropriate place to mention it.
    So my mistake.

This is the one that's restored.
It's funny you said that as it's something that is always in the back of our mind.
Is it a genuine sandman or not. These make you have no doubt that what you have is the real
Deal. I would recommend the service 100%

Ben will not produce a report if he can not be 100% sure. "lost records". This is not 100% true. Its more a matter that no one in GMH knows how to access them... They are there....

Ben who does these reports knows what he is talking about. There is NO doubt about it.
