    Quaddie Air Cleaner

Recently got my engine back from the rebuilders and Mick has done an awesome job and the my old 308 has never punched this hard before. This gives me a small(ish) issue in that the standard HJ aircleaner isn't going to cut it. I don't want to get rid of it (keep it for show'n'shine days) but I need something I can use to dig a bit cooler air up without going through the bonnet.

Going out on a limb here but does anyone have anything like this they want to move on for the right price? Possibly something like it (L69 air cleaner)? Looking at dual snorkels to hook up some 4 inch scat hose to and pick up some cooler air from underneath.

Yep, definately American. They were used on the mid 80's 305ci Z28 (F bodies) as far as I know. They are made to suit the quadrajet (which I've modded and works a treat with my engine) and are still a GM product. Was going to try and keep everything 'GM' as much as I could. There is no getting away with the new set of pacemakers though...

I sourced a single snorkel version of this for my quadrajet and found it by searching eBay for Chevrolet air cleaners from 1975 onwards. For interest, the single snorkel version was used on the VC HDT Brock Commodore with a chromed lid.

Could you get two VC ones and make one out of the two?

I think the single snorkel is a bit longer that the twin, so might not work out fully. See pic below

Looking at all options at the moment, nothing has been ruled out except a group A type tray. Would look wildly out of place. Not going for a show car finish, just a neat and functional set up that will flow, work well and stand up to a bit of usage.

I also have to get around the power steer on one side and the a/c compressor on the other. The BBC aircleaner idea looks good. No issues with under bonnet clearance?

Might be the way to go with making one from the two. That way you can set the distance/ placement of the inlets to suit your set up and still give you the look you are after.
From memory the "snorkel" is spot welded on so would be easy to trim, extend etc.
