WTB supra 5 speed bellhousing - turbo / trimatic.

    Hi all.

Just wondering if anyone has a supra 5 speed to holden cable bellhousing that is both turbo and trimatic pattern, that they are wanting to sell?

I want one which is both, as my current setup is tri pattern and also has the rat trap bolted to it. I want to update to full cable, and I also want to keep my options open, for connecting it to the 304 EFI turbo pattern down the track.

Im in Ballarat but can travel. Cheers.

I'd be surprised if one like you describe exists? I believe its not just the bolt holes on the back of the block from tri to turbo that are different, but the shape of the face that the bellhousing bolts to, if you know what I mean?

From memory you can go from one pattern to the other
But cannot have both, It has something to do with the locating dowels & size of them.
In saying that it doesn't mean you couldn't put removable bushes/inserts in the dowel holes to get around it.
I also would like to have both chev & holden (trimatic) patterns on my bell housing ..
Think you'll find that all 304fi motors are chev pattern..
The dellows bell housings are cast with both patterns but only the one required is drilled with the dowel/bolt holes.

    Everything you've written is correct.
I have one attached to a Supra 5- speed that was in a Torana I bought years ago. The bellhousing is cast for both options and then drilled to suit, however I see no reason why the other holes couldn't be drilled and the bolt pattern changed.
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!

Cheers guys. Thanks for the info.

I was thinking about something like in the link below. Just hoping for something slightly closer to home. Beggars cant be choosers though!

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/252019420...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

It seems to be drilled out for both patterns, so that would be handy if I decide to go turbo VN EFI a bit later on. Im hoping its as simple as that, but if not I have an old school gearbox and diff expert who works out of an old servo almost across from my house, so Im confident he'd be able to sort something for me.

Looks like I stand corrected, it is possible. Do they come up much on ebay? That's about half the new cost that Dellows ask for their bellhousings (not that I saw the one you're after on their site), so price is pretty good in the scheme of things if it does everything you want it to do for the future.
