    Is this a Sandman ??

I purchased this ute recently, it was in Narrandera in dry storage since 1989
It is very straight and no rust,
It has a GTS dash, bucket seats and T Bar auto
I am looking for advise, should I keep it original or should I put in 5 litre injected, turbo 700
as there is no motor and trans in it now
Need some help with this one, the badges should be a good indicator
    Look forward to any input
    Thanks
    Dean

WB Windscreen, Door Mirrors and WB Statesman Caprice Badges.
If the door handles are ribbed they are WB also (hard to see in the photos).

Cool car, i'd rather that than a HZ Sandman any day! A black with light trim HZ Kingswood ute in L31, M41, buckets and an optional rear axle to boot. I wouldn't be surprised if it is original console shift, air, steer and LSD and the U17 dash is original too.

Very cool combination. Perfect for an injected 5 Litre, air , steer and maybe an interior trim with nice modern velour fabric (VS statesman seats and matched door trims etc?)

Or not. Much more unusual than the 5 million Sandmans out there. Perhaps keeping it close to original might be a good idea.

As long as you do the body and interior pretty original I don't think mechanicals will affect it that much, especially since its original engine and box are gone.
